Pattern Notes & Specifications

Part 1: The 3D Dahlia Core (Colored Yarn)

Begin with your chosen accent color (Dusty Rose, Purple, or Green).

Round 1 (Base Ring): Make a Magic Ring. Ch 1 (does not count as a st), work 12 sc into the ring. Pull tail tightly to close the center. Join with a sl st to the 1st sc. (12 sc)

Round 2 (Inner Petal Ring – FLO): Note: This round works exclusively in FLO to leave the back loops open for Round 4.

Round 3 (Outer 3D Layered Petals – Working behind Round 2):

Part 2: Transitioning Flower into Hexagon Base

Round 4 (Anchor Base Round – BLO): Working behind all petals, attach color yarn to the BLO of the Round 3 slip stitch connections.

Round 5 (Building 6 Corners):

Round 6 (Expanding Solid Base):

Round 7 (Final Accent Round):

Part 3: Cream Textured Frame & Border

Round 8 (Back Loop Framing): Attach Cream/Off-White yarn in any corner ch-2 space.

Round 9 (Popcorn & Texture Row):

Round 10 (Post Stitch Anchor Round):

Round 11 (Outer Edge Finishing):

Part 4: Assembly & Border

  1. Blocking: Pin each completed hexagon to blocking boards and steam gently to align all 6 sides evenly before joining.
  2. Joining Method: Arrange motifs in an alternating color grid. Join hexagons together using Cream yarn via Flat Zipper Slip Stitch through the back loops of Round 11 to maintain raised hexagon framing lines throughout the blanket.
  3. Outer Blanket Border:
    • Rnd 1: Work 1 sc in every st around the entire outer boundary, placing 3 sc into outer point corners.
    • Rnd 2: Work 1 Crab Stitch (Reverse Single Crochet) around the entire perimeter for a clean twisted rope finish.
